BCG ANZ organises a range of events to give all staff the opportunity to have fun and get to know each other better. These events help to create the friendly, cohesive office of which we are very proud.
Events range from formally organised office outings for the whole office to small groups heading on skiing or surfing weekends. Some examples can be found below:
Every second year we spend a few days away from the office on a firmwide trip. These trips are a great opportunity for the staff in Australia and New Zealand offices to share highlights of their work, participate in trainings and to socialise together and have fun. Recent destinations have included Kingscliff on the far north coast of New South Wales and the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
The Christmas party is another major event in the office social calendar, allowing BCG staff and their partners to get together and celebrate the successes of the year. Other events in the past have included ‘A Day at the Races’, Murder Mystery night, Casino nights and outings to major sporting events.
In addition to major events and parties each office gets together on Fridays for breakfast, lunch or drinks to ensure everyone is across the office news and has a chance to catch up socially. The breakfast gathering every two weeks includes a presentation and discussion of news such as recent projects, new joiners, promotions and celebrations. On the last Friday evening of each month we host office drinks, following which many people continue late into the evening in nearby bars, clubs and restaurants.
The social and charity committees also add to our office culture. Ranging from movie nights and bowling outings in fancy dress to Pancake Day or cohort bake-offs in support of the monthly nominated charity, they demonstrate our diversity and can bring out some quite unexpected hidden talents! The 'Fit N Healthy' Committee then challenges us to get out of our seats with activities such as the BCG 10,000 step program, Boot Camp or regular emails reminding us of various gym discounts near the office. Gulp – no excuses!
The offices are not without sporting talent and to demonstrate that we are not afraid to showcase our skills among other companies we participate in the annual Corporate Games. Sydney also has a weekly 5-a-side football team, Melbourne touch football team and Auckland mixed hockey team.
BCG ANZ offices are friendly with something always going on. The regular social events provide plenty of opportunities to both meet with peers and relax at the end of a busy.
